Billing & Insurance
Barnes Speech and Language Services is an in-network provider with BCBS Traditional and PPO plans and also accepts private pay. We are considered an out-of-network provider with most other insurances. A detailed invoice (superbill) will be provided upon request for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Do you accept insurance?

We offer superbills upon request for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We are happy to assist you in the process of inquiring about out-of-network benefits and submitting superbills.
We are in the process of becoming credentialed with other insurance providers. Please contact us with questions regarding your particular insurance.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit/debit cards as well as HSA and FSA cards. Payment is due at the end of each session.
What are your individual session rates?
Speech and Language Evaluation (60-75 minutes): $350
Speech Only Evaluation (60 minutes): $250
Fluency Only Evaluation (60 minutes): $275
Individual Treatment Session (30-45 minutes): $75

Where do you provide services?
We provide in-home speech therapy in Livingston, Oakland, and Genesee Counties within a 25-mile radius of Hartland, MI, including the cities of Argentine Township, Brighton, Clarkston, Commerce Township, Davisburg, Fenton, Fowlerville, Grand Blanc, Hartland, Holly, Howell, Linden, Milford, New Hudson, Pinckney, Rankin, South Lyon, Walled Lake, Waterford, White Lake, and Wixom.
Telehealth is also an option for all Michigan and all Florida residents.
How long are typical therapy sessions?
Our speech therapy sessions are typically 30-45 minutes in length depending on the needs of the individual child, with evaluation sessions ranging from 60-75 minutes.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Yes, a doctor’s referral is required if using insurance. If you plan to submit a superbill to your insurance company for reimbursement, a doctor’s referral is also required. However, a doctor’s referral is not required if you would like to private pay without reimbursement from insurance. You will be able to upload the script and any medical records to our secure client portal prior to your first appointment.
What do I need for my initial appointment?
Prior to your first appointment, you will receive a packet to complete online in our secure client portal. The client intake, consent for treatment, payment information, insurance information, and any other requested forms must be completed at least 48 hours prior to your initial appointment. You may also upload a doctor’s script and any pertinent medical records to the portal for us to review.
